Perching Birds

Rothschild's Mynah The 'passerine', or perching birds, are amongst the most successful in the world - there are more species than in any other group. Amongst the passerines are two families which are particularly numerous; the starlings - Sternidae and crows - Corvidae.
Rothschild's Mynah, or Bali Starling. Confined to the island of Bali, numbers have declined due to agricultural land development and being formerly taken for the bird trade. A zoo breeding programme has resulted in the return of birds to Bali.
